Permanent Uncertainty

Episode recap

The Open Era began with a classic marooning, two new tribes, an exile twist, a hidden idol, and a live first Tribal Council. Savu won immunity, and Aaliyah Puglia became the season’s first castaway voted out.

Twenty-one castaways arrived together for a two-minute marooning before the game divided them into two ten-person tribes. Lewis volunteered to leave the group, spent the opening round in exile, and failed a timed attempt to earn an idol, but remained safe from the first vote.

Savu and Toka negotiated for their starting camp supplies, then met for the season’s first immunity challenge. Savu’s stronger finish on the staircase and puzzle earned tribal immunity; Toka went to Tribal Council.

At Toka, the target moved from Jenna to Aaliyah during an open, live discussion. Both women risked their Shots in the Dark and both results were not safe. The votes then eliminated Aaliyah, making her the first person out of Survivor 51.
